Rhiannon Bennett was asked to answer this question- You should vote for me in the Coed Eva (Cwmbran Community Council) election because– and this is her answer.

I’m proud to be standing in the Coed Eva Ward in the Community Council elections.

I’ve lived in this area all my life and raised my two children here. I’m a qualified Teacher and Youth Worker with over 16 years experience supporting children and young people in Torfaen. I stepped into a public life role to use these skills for the benefit of the community. It’s important to me that people of all ages get their views heard on issues that matter to them. I know how local democracy works and I’m skilled at navigating the different levels of decision making in order to influence positive change.

Improving opportunities for children and young people is a top priority of mine. In addition to my Councillor duties I’m a member of the Cwmbran Centre for Young People (CCYP) Management Committee and I’m a school Governor for the Federation of Blenheim and Coed Eva Schools.

I’m an experienced fundraiser and enjoy supporting local community groups and organisations to access funding to widen and improve services they offer. I also like getting out and about in the community to take part in litter picks.

I love our community and will continue to work hard to ensure Coed Eva is a safe, clean and happy place to live.
