We are Richard Clark and Joanne Gauden, Labour’s candidates in the new combined Croesyceiliog ward.
Richard has represented Croesyceiliog on Torfaen Council since 2004. His background is in local government, welfare rights for a local charity and as a policy officer in an allied health profession. Richard was brought up in Croesyceiliog, the community he calls home and has championed local issues.
Jo has a background in trade unionism representing members, campaigning for safe and fair workplaces. Jo understands the difficulties families face and champions a fairer, inclusive society. She knows Croesyceiliog well, the place where she grew up herself, raised a family and is well known in the community.
Together, we are a strong team and are seeking re-election to bring our community together, to promote a love of where we live in and of course, to support our residents through the cost of living crisis.
We think you should vote for us because:
*You can be confident we are easy to contact and respond promptly to your concerns. We stay in touch with you with monthly street surgeries, deliver annual newsletters and are active on social media
*You know we lead in our community with litter picks, wood tidies, pantomimes, charity events, bringing Santa to Croesy and helping local groups to grow. We responded quickly to the Covid 19 pandemic with organising a team of volunteers to support you with shopping and prescriptions and grew a local Foodshare to support those in need.
*You can be confident we attend our range of council meetings, well prepared and contribute to decision making that supports all of our residents’ best interests. We strive for a cleaner, greener Torfaen, where the economy flourishes, to offer the best education to our young and take good care of our vulnerable residents.
