A team of volunteers from a Cardiff business have transformed an unused patch of land at Cwmbran High School into a secret garden for pupils in the autism base.
Esther Nicolaou, the ASD base coordinator, said: “Last Tuesday 12 members of staff from Countrywide Integrated Solutions in Cardiff donated their time and came to our school to makeover a small patch of land into a secret garden area for the students from our base. We are extremely grateful that they did this for us and would like to let as many people as possible know about their generosity.
“Our students all helped in different ways, some digging and getting dirty, some making sandwiches for the workers’ dinner, some making teas and coffees and some were happy just to watch
“Huge thanks to the team from Countrywide, my amazing team of staff and of course the students. Special mention to Mr Powell who probably wished he had ignored me knocking on the boiler house door this morning and worked like a warrior all day! What a fantastic day!”
