A senior Gwent Police chief is featured in this year’s Pinc List.
The annual list, now in its ninth year, is produced by Pride Cymru and Wales Online to recognise LGBT+ people in Wales who’ve done exceptional things for the community.
Chief Superintendent Carl Williams is is an executive member of the Wales LGBT+ Police Network. He said: “As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community I am really touched to be included in this year’s Pinc List.
“I’m committed to strengthening LGBTQ+ representation in policing and raising awareness of the work and initiatives we have ongoing to support LGBTQ+ people living and working in the Gwent Police area. This includes our own officers and staff.
“It’s important that we all work together to help people gain a better understanding of our community and the experiences people face. Whilst we’ve seen great progress in recent years, more support and recognition of the community and its needs are crucial to become truly representative of those which we serve”.
“I will continue to advocate for LGBTQ+ colleagues and communities across Wales to ensure their voices are heard and valued.”
