Take part in a walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and raise money for Blood Bikes Wales and local charities.
Walk The Canal is a sponsored walk, along the canal from from Llangattock in the north to Five Locks Cwmbran in the south. The event will raise funds for Blood Bikes Wales and local causes.
The walk is on Sunday 14 May. Registration at each starting point will run from 10am until 12pm. Walkers can register and start their walk at any time during this period.
There are five start points along the canal with varying distances from Goytre Wharf:
- Llangattock (12 miles)
- Gilwern (8.2 miles)
- Llanfoist (5 miles)
- Pontypool Basin (5 miles)
- Five locks, Cwmbran (7.3 miles)
To enter the walk simply apply online by 12 May or via post by 30 April. The entry cost is £5 per walker.
What is Blood Bikes Wales?

Blood Bikes Wales is a 100% volunteer charity based in Wales, providing completely free courier service to the NHS, delivering blood samples, plasma, donated human milk, documents and other items all over Wales.
Our service is free of charge and operates on weekdays for some health board areas and across Wales from 7pm on Friday evening until midnight on Monday morning including bank holidays & even Christmas day!

All the walks finish at Goytre Wharf where from 2pm to 4pm walkers can enjoy free refreshments and a BBQ.
