A charity wants people to get together with their friends and family to take part in a relay challenge where the aim is to walk up and down Twmbarlwm for 12 hours.

Shine Bright Support is encouraging teams of between 4-12 people to walk from Henllys Village Park to Twmbarlwm in a relay. At least two members of each team need to be trekking at all times. The challenge is for your team to keep going for the full 12 hours.

It takes place on Saturday 23 July 2022.

Organisers said: “Henllys Park ‘Base Camp’ will be a hive of activity with stalls and entertainment throughout the day to keep our trekkers going. We have been given permission for use of the park and Henllys Village hall on the day and plan to have a number of things going in order to create a really fun, family-friendly atmosphere. So, if you are not on the trek there should be other things going on to keep you entertained.”

Shine Bright Support

The event page says: “Shine Bright Support is a charity which was set up to provide key mental health support to parents, families and children going through childhood cancer. The charity have recently raised enough money to financially support an NHS Clinical Psychologist. The challenge for 2020 is to raise money to fund a helpline to support families at such a difficult time. The charity is close to our hearts as our friends Robert and Bethan Hooper are behind it. Their daughter Eleri was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and really sadly passed away in September 2019.”
