Torfaen Council is hosting its first virtual social care recruitment day
As well as all the latest jobs and training opportunities from the sector, potential recruits will get the chance to speak with the team and ask questions.
The Torfaen Cares event takes place on Tuesday 15 March 2022 and coincides with World Social Work Day – a day that highlights the successes of Social Work.
It will run from 4pm to 8pm and you can join through the event’s Facebook page- Torfaen Cares.
It’s an opportunity to find out more about careers in care, whether that’s how shifts work, what qualifications are needed or what you do day to day.
Drop-in event at Cwmbran Library
A drop-in event will also take place on the day at Cwmbran Library, from 10am until 2pm, for anyone wanting a face-to-face chat.
Social Care takes place in many forms, from front-line domiciliary support workers to social workers.
Torfaen executive member for social care and housing, Councillor David Daniels said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who has been thinking about a career in care, a change in career, or to get to know more about the sector as a whole.
“We’re looking for passionate people who are looking to make a positive difference to many children and adult lives across the borough.”
