Stolen mobility scooter returned to owner

The owner of a mobility scooter stolen from outside her house in Cwmbran is thrilled to have it back.

Julie Larke, 49, of Pembrey Path in St Dials, has cerebral palsy and is deaf. Her blue scooter is vital for her independence as she uses it to visit friends in the area every day.

Cwmbran Life reported yesterday (29 July 2021) how she woke up on Wednesday morning to find a thief had come into her front garden and cut the chain before stealing her scooter.

Dennis, her dad, said that on Thursday he was given an address where the scooter may have been taken. He visited the house and the information he had received was correct and he was able to recover his daughter’s scooter.

There was some minor damage to the front of the scooter. Dennis said someone they knew was able to quickly do the repair before it was returned to Julie.
