A vote being put in a ballot box

The list of candidates contesting seats and automatically elected in the Torfaen community council elections on Thursday 5 May 2022 has been published.

Thirty-four wards attracted the exact number of candidates needed. Those candidates have been announced as ‘duly elected’ by the returning officer, Stephen Vickers.

Four out of the 38 wards will go to the polls. Voters living in four wards will be asked to put a cross in the box against the person (s) they would like to represent their community.

Pontypool Community Council –Sebastopol West -Two candidates contest one seat

Pontypool Community Council –Grifithstown East -Two candidates contest one seat

Cwmbran Community Council –Upper Cwmbran Thornhill – Three candidates contest one seat

Cwmbran Community Council –Coed Eva–  Three candidates contest one seat

You have until 11.59pm on 14 April to register to vote for the elections on Thursday 5 May 2022 The voting age for these elections is 16.
