This is the cast of ‘Annie – The Musical’ at Cwmbran High School during Sunday’s dress rehearsal. The place was buzzing with excitement when I visited to take a photo.
The cast features pupils from Year 7 through to Year 11.
Emily Porter, the show’s director and choreographer, said: “It’s quite different to what they’re used to. We’ve been able to get in some funding so they have had professional tech, professional sound and professional lighting, which is always fun but always tricky.
“They’ve been working really hard after school and loads of them had their mock exams last week as well so bless them.
“They have been juggling, so super proud, but yes, it’d be lovely to have as much support as possible from as many people as possible.
“It all relies on ticket sales so any money we make will go into their next production, which is in July (Legally Blonde JR) so fingers crossed we sell out so we can do that for them.”
Annie runs from Tuesday 24 March to Thursday 26 March in the main hall at Cwmbran High School. The show starts at 7pm.
