A business that only opened in Cwmbran town centre 18 months ago has been named a finalist in the Best Of Welsh Business Awards.

Jemma Cantelo started Treats N Play, a children’s play centre and cafe upstairs in The Parade, in August 2022.

The news comes weeks after she found out her business has won a High Street Business of the Year 2023 award.

She told Cwmbran Life: “I applied to be entered not thinking for a second we would be finalist never mind winning. We were invited to the University of Wales Newport for the evening. We got to meet up with other businesses. It was so nice to see others like us that have worked so hard to be where we are and to be recognised. There were tears of joy.

“Then a few weeks later, I was notified we had made the finals of The Best Of Welsh Awards and have been invited to the New House Country Hotel in Cardiff on Sunday 17 March.

“Myself and the team work so hard, families that visit become friends to us. We absolutely love what we do and making children happy is our main priority.

“We now have 100s of reviews over our socials, website and bookings, they are so nice to read.

“The future for Treats N Play is exciting.”
