Torfaen Council looking for staff to work at elections

Do you want to work at an election?

Torfaen Council is looking for potential presiding officers and poll clerks. Both roles are paid and you will receive training and support. During national elections, Torfaen Council runs 70 polling stations. The council also runs county and community council by-elections when required.

Each polling station is staffed by a Presiding Officer and Polling Clerk, who are responsible for making sure voting procedures are correctly followed. The elections team is looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join a bank of presiding officers and poll clerks who can be called on when an election is due to be held.

How much is the pay for election staff?

Presiding Officers receive £195 and Polling Clerks get £138.75, plus travel expenses. You will be paid for training
