Communities across Torfaen are coming together this week to mark Long Covid Awareness Day on Sunday 15 March.
Cwmbran parkrun is inviting runners and volunteers to wear teal at this Saturday’s event to show support for the millions of people still living with Long Covid. Those without teal are encouraged to wear blue or green.
Torfaen Council has confirmed it will once again light up the Civic Centre in teal, joining landmarks across Wales including Cardiff Castle and the National Library of Wales, which will also be illuminated to raise awareness.
Members of two exercise classes at Pontypool Active Living Centre have already shown their support by dressing in teal, as pictured.
As part of Long Covid Awareness Month, a rock‑painting session was held at Re;Store in Pontypool, on Friday 6 March. The event was supported by homelessness charity The Wallich.
A spokesperson for the local Long Covid support group said: “Look out for events coming up in the next few weeks as we mark Long Covid Awareness Month. Millions across the UK and beyond continue to fight their private battles with Long Covid. No tests. No treatments. No prognosis.”
