Torfonix is an internet radio station being set up in Cwmbran and due to launch in 2015.
Dan Williams is leading the project and he invited me into the room that is being converted into a studio at Randomz which is next door to the Football Factory. He wants individuals and community groups to get involved and broadcast their own shows.
Free training to get your show on air
Dan is offering free training to give people the skills to write, research, record and get their stories on the airwaves.
So for example a writers’ group could record a show reading out their members’ short-stories and poetry. A sports club could report on their latest match. If you love cooking you could talk about your latest recipes. The list is endless and Dan’s main message is he needs local people and groups to get involved to make sure lots of voices are heard.
