TSB Bank in Cwmbran is closing with the bank saying customers are shifting from going into a branch to doing more digital banking.
A spokesperson for the bank said customer transactions in the branch in General Rees Square had fallen by 46 per cent between December 2019 and December 2023.
The branch will close on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
The spokesperson added: “We have not taken the decision to close our Cwmbran branch lightly, but our customers are banking differently – with a clear shift to digital banking.”
Across TSB, 96 per cent of transactions take place outside of a branch. It offers a video banking service where customers can talk directly to its staff online.
