Gwent Police are appealing for the driver or passengers of a car to contact them following a fatal road traffic collision on the A4042.
It happened at around 12.45am of the morning of Saturday 30 September and involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa and an e-scooter between the Grove Park roundabout and Croes-y-Mwylach roundabout. The rider of the e-scooter, a 26-year-old from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
Police have now released a video of a car that was seen in the area. A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to the driver or occupants, of a small, light-coloured car – possibly grey or silver with a black roof – that was seen in the area at the time and may be able to assist with the investigation. We want to stress that the driver of the car is not believed to be involved in the collision, but they may hold information which could assist our enquiries.
