The League One outfit are in Wales for a ten-day pre-season training camp. The team, known as The Owls, booked the running track from Torfaen Leisure Trust for a fitness session under the watchful eye of manager, Darren Moore.

Cwmbran Life caught up with Darren before his squad arrived on the team coach.

When he found out that the track had been used by Linford Christie, Darren Campbell and Jamie Baulch he joked, “And now it’s going to see Sheffield Wednesday, first-team players try and get somewhere near those times. But I don’t think they’ll get near the times those boys have set. That’s some classic runners there that have graced this wonderful stadium. And we are very, very grateful to be here and thankful for allowing us to come here and use the facilities.”

The players trained for just over an hour doing laps of the 400m track in small groups.
