Volunteers in Cwmbran have created a memorial tree where you can have a candle lit and hung from its branches to remember loved ones on Christmas Day.

The Friends of Pontnewydd Park are holding a session today (Saturday 24 December) from 3.30pm to 4.30pm for anyone to go along and write a message, create an LED candle, and have it placed in the tree.

The group were in the park yesterday (Friday 23 December) and Cwmbran Life went along to chat to volunteers, take photos and record this video interview with Councillor Sue Morgan, a volunteer with the group. Scroll down for some more photos.

Making a candle is free but you can make a donation towards the group’s project to restore the park’s old Rose Garden into a memorial area for the late Queen and others who have passed.
