Children at Bellevue Nursery in Old Cwmbran had a fun-filled morning at Cwmbran Stadium enjoying sports and raising money for charity.
Amy Isidoro, a mum whose child attends the nursery, has had treatment for breast cancer and is running the London Marathon next year for Cancer Research Wales.
Lucy Russell, the nursery’s deputy manager, said: “As soon as we heard that one of our parents would be running in the London Marathon we knew that we wanted to support them and fundraise in some way. We wanted it to be related to running or sports and with the Olympics this year we thought this would be the perfect opportunity.
“So we decided to hold our own mini-Olympics to create a fun and engaging authentic experience for our children, who would get to experience running on a real life race track in a real stadium within their local community. And also experience some of the sports that they’ve been watching on the TV recently.”
