Cwmbran High School’s football teams have been playing brilliantly with two sides recently playing in the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup.

The year nine boys’ team has reached the semi-finals. They recently played Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School (Beddau). The school shared a post on social media that said: “Year nine boys produced a phenomenal performance against an excellent and physical side to progress through to the last four of the Welsh Cup. Some aesthetically pleasing goals with O.McKnight with the pick up the bunch. Da iawn pawb!”

The year 7 boys’ team lost 5-4 to Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School. A social media post said: “Heartache for the year 7 boys who lose out 5-4 to an excellent team…Our boys showed great character coming back from 3-0 down. J.Price with a spectacular equaliser. All the best to our opponents in the semi final.”
