Congress Youth Theatre present EVITA

Evita charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron’s meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor, illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron. The most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33.

The events in Evita’s life are presented in song and commented on by the show’s narrator, Che. Well-known numbers from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece include “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, “Oh What a Circus”, “Buenos Aires” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall.”

It’s the show night out not to be missed – wowing crowds in Blackpool since 2014, and now touring the country – OH WHAT A NITE! is a different style of tribute show to any other that you will have seen or heard of before.

Matt Andrew leads our vocal quartet as our tribute to Frankie Valli – telling the story of the band and how they formed the group which took them to the dizzy heights of television appearances, fame and fortune… all performed alongside an amazing trio of vocal talent – Johnny, Michael and Toby who take the roles of Nick Massey, Bob Guadio and Tommy Devito

Comedy host Leye D Johns can’t be kept away from the stage for too long either, bringing a light hearted flavour to proceedings and ensuring the crowd leave with a big smile on their face.

Our Viva showgirls complete the cast line-up – bringing the moves of the 60s and 70s to the stage as well as backing vocals, and solo numbers of their own bringing the era back to life!

The show also has a way of bringing current hits to life too, with that same Doo Wop style – again making OH WHAT A NITE! different to any tribute show you’ll ever see!

Stunning costumes, choreography, production and more – all to take you back to the era when hit song, after hit song had ‘The Four Seasons’ famous around the World.

In The Raw’ features their own breathtakingly beautiful acoustic arrangements from the great singer-songwriters; James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, 10cc, CSN, Traveling Wilburys, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Toto, Bee Gee’s, and many more.

Sitting on bar stools and armed with no more than their trademark four-part vocal harmony, acoustic instruments and laid-back banter, Talon will leave you simply spellbound.

Following the huge success of Owen Money’s Jukebox Heroes in 2016, and then Owen Money’s Jukebox Heroes II in 2018; along with the third succession in 2021. Owen Money is back with another talent packed live show featuring the music of his popular weekend Radio shows on BBC Wales; and of course his unique style of comedy and ‘Welsh Whit’!

Yes you’ve guess it Owen Money’s Jukebox Heroes IV! However, with the fourth sequel comes the final! ….

To end this massively popular theatre series that has visited sell out audiences throughout Welsh theatres; we will once again see Owen joined on stage by his fantastic band, headed by M.D Ian Kimber; who will accompany some breath taking tributes to some legends of the music world.

Accompanying Owen and his band are the ladies of ‘Like ABBA’ who will be reviving those famous supergroup hits, such as the very apt ‘Money, Money, Money’ …
