A group of actors, musicians and backstage crew are putting on a musical tonight in the Congress Theatre after only being given the script last night.
The 24 hour musical kicked off last night when a cast of ten, crew of 14 plus an orchestra met up and found out what they would be performing tonight to an audience.
A chinese takeway was delivered to the theatre last night. They have been rehearsing ever since. This morning bacon and sausage baps arrived to help get the day off to a good start. I think it’s fair to see that a fair bit of coffee has been drunk.
A cast member told me at 2pm today that they were ‘absolutely shattered’.
The musical is Lucky Stiff, based on the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo. Book & Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty.
Tickets can be bought for £10 from the box office. The curtain is up at 7.30pm.
