Staff at a Torfaen engineering business have told Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds about new investment in their factory.

Solitec Engineering in Blaenavon makes loose bulk solids and power handling equipment in a wide range of industries and reports its products across the world.

Its website says: “Experienced engineers, based in Blaenavon, Gwent, control all aspects of the design and construction of complete solids handling and processing plant anywhere in the world – from oil rigs in the North Sea, to tea blending in the USA, complying with the most demanding international codes of practice and specifications.”

The new investment led to new offices being built, cranes being upgraded, the units being reclad, and the area around the factory being landscaped.

Nick Thomas-Symonds said: “I am delighted to visit Solitec and witness first-hand the impressive work being done here. It is pleasing to have a leading manufacturer such as Solitec with world-wide export sales of loose bulk solids and powder handling equipment in Torfaen.

“I am encouraged hearing the company’s plans to invest in Blaenavon, its facility and employees which will benefit our local and national economy.”

Simon Davies, general manager at Solitec, expressed enthusiasm about the visit, stating: “This visit not only highlights his interest and support for our company and our employees but also provides a valuable opportunity to exchange insights and communicate our vision for the future.”
