Responsible dog owners and their pets are joining users of a Cwmbran park to hold a peaceful protest against dog mess.
The Friends of Pontnewydd Park are a group of volunteers who have put out the call to action for a “NO POOP in our PARK protest”.
It’s happening on Saturday 29 March from 11am.
Leanne Morgan, from the Friends of Pontnewdd Park, said: “We have seen a massive increase in the amount of dogs poop in the park, including in and around the children’s play area.
“We have two poop bag dispensers which the group fill, so there is no reason not to pick up after your pooch. We have a majority of responsible owners who are valued members of our park community, who have noticed an increase in excrement. It is such a hazard, for our environment and for our children. We have joined together to raise awareness of the issue. All park users are welcome to join us including our four-legged friends.”
The group will share treats for children and children, and hand out free poop bags.
