“You work hard enough, you can achieve anything. It’s a journey, you have setbacks but you keep at it. You can reach the top.”
Those were the words of world champion and Olympic gold medalist boxer Lauren Price as she returned to her old amateur gym in Pontypool. The club’s boxers queued up to chat and have photos with her last Wednesday evening.
She spent around an hour talking to boxers and her old trainers. Lauren now trains as a professional in Sheffield.
Last month, she beat Natasha Jonas at the Royal Albert Hall to unify the WBA championship she held with the IBF and WBC belts.
UFC fighter Mason Jones was training at the gym and the pair had a photo.
