A Newport cafe that opened in July with the aim of making the most of local, fresh and just generally good products has been using Cwmbran suppliers.
One of the lovely quirks of Parc Pantry is that everything you can see in the shop can be bought which means there will always be new things to discover.
Money spent by local people in their local shops tends to keep circulating in the local economy helping to support and create new jobs. I’m heading to Parc Pantry in Larch Grove, Malpas for the first time on Sunday as my daughter is playing football against the local team. But this tweet from the owners yesterday reminded me to share a story now.

Kickstarter
Matt Ellis and Ant Cook, the owners, are using Kickstarter, a new way that creative people are getting funding for their projects. Check out the What is Kickstarter page and play and watch the Parc Pantry video here:
Pledge money to Parc Pantry’s Kickstarter
I pledged a tenner a few weeks ago which will get me any two drinks and cakes on the menu…. as long as they reach their £2,000 target by 9.10am on Friday morning. There are other pledge levels available each with a different reward that backers get once the target is reached.
Visit their Kickstarter page and help them reach their target. Kickstarter helps creative businesses avoid expensive loans so they stand the best chance of growing and thriving by being self-sufficient.
If Parc Pantry reaches £2,00 they plan to use the money to buy catering equipment.
