Teachers at Cwmbran High School were in class yesterday to finish off preparations ready for the new school to open its doors for the first time on Monday.
Fairwater High School and Llantarnam School have merged into Cwmbran High School. Six million pounds is being spent on the new school on the site of Fairwater High School.
Work is still taking place around the site and it won’t be finished until October half-term but the teachers and school are ready to welcome the 1,200 new pupils next week.
I met Helen Coulson, headteacher, and recorded this video with her and two other teachers.
