A try four minutes from time gave the youth team at Cwmbran RFC a thrilling 8-3 win and more importantly the WRU’s Dragons A Youth League title.
Danny Evans, one of the Cwmbran coaches, said he was like an expectant dad in a hospital corridor pacing up and down the touchline during the game.
The game against RTB Ebbw Vale was 3-3 until a dropped ball was kicked through and chased by Rhys Cox to get the try.
The game was played in the rain but still attracted a crowd of around 200.
Watch this video to see Rhys talk about his try and Danny talk about the game and how the players made themselves and the club proud.
The title is the top youth league in the Dragons region.
