A former Cwmbran High School pupil who now races cars took a podium finish at Silverstone last weekend. Caleb McDuff, 17, is the UK’s only male Deaf racing driver.
He drives Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers, and competed in round 1 of the Britcar Endurance Championship at the world-famous track last weekend, his first race of the 2025 season.
Caleb is pairing up with 20-year-old Noah Cosby from Northamptonshire, who is paraplegic following a motocross accident. Noah uses the team’s hand control technology to enable the pair to compete on equal terms with able-bodied drivers.
This is the first season of GT4 racing for both drivers.
Caleb said: “It was great to work with Noah for the first time. We’ve been friends for a while, but never been paired as team mates until now.
“I’m very happy with our first race weekend. We showed we work well together, and have a very good pace in the McLaren. I’m so excited to see how we develop together as we get more time in the car and learn from each other.
“Even though we had technical issues in the first race, we still had a very good result considering it was our first time racing the car. Then we took P2 – a great result.
“I’m confident we’ll be taking wins very soon.”
Caleb races again at Silverstone on Saturday 3rd May.
