Organisers of a road run in Torfaen have labeled it ‘the fastest 10km on the planet’.

The annual Torfaen 10km raises money for the Mic Morris Sporting Trust with grants shared with young people from the area throughout the area. Its tongue-in-cheek label has been given as the route is all downhill from the start in Blaenavon to the finish line in Pontypool Park.

Organisers say: “This race is a firm favourite with beginners and experienced runners alike.” All the roads are closed giving runners a good chance of a personal best at this distance.

Entree fees range from £26 to £33 with options for transport. Visit the Torfaen 10km website for more information.
