A Cwmbran family is celebrating after reaching five generations for the second time this year. First time granddad Richard John, aged 43 from Hollybush, said: “Our family reached five generations who are alive and well when earlier this year my sister Claire became a grandmother after her son Gareth John and partner Jenny gave birth to Zac.
“My nan,Sadie who lives in Merthyr Tydfil was was born in 1920 is aged 92, so there is a lot of history between her and Zac, her great great grandson. Then in September my son Michael and his partner Amelia had a baby boy Harvey. This gave us the two five generations which we think is pretty unusual.
“So from the two newborns we have their parents. Then above them is myself and my sister. We then have our dad Derek and at the top of the family tree is Sadie, nan”
