A Cwmbran teacher surprised the judges on ITV’s Britains’ Got Talent by walking on stage to dance with her daughter’s dance group.
Cheryl Haynes was one of a group of parents who sat in the audience to cheer on their children as they performed for KSI, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli in last Saturday’s show.
Thirty seconds into their audition the young dancers called out to their parents who suddenly leapt out of their seats, took off their tops to reveal dance outfits, and headed to the stage.
The mums, one dad and a nan (seventeen in total) danced for the judges before their children joined them back on target to finish the audition together.
Cheryl told Cwmbran Life: “It was filmed back in October in Blackpool, so we have been holding in the secret all this time. It has been really difficult not to share such an amazing experience but the reaction since the show has been worth it.
“My daughter is also dancing, she’s one of the older dancers and I was proud to be on stage with her. We were all really excited to dance with our children, such a special moment.
“I hope that our pupils will be proud of me and I really want them to see that they could achieve anything with determination, positivity and resilience.
“Bust A Move started as a fundraising group for a breast cancer charity. We’re all dance mums, a nan and Steve, who wanted to learn to dance and is now a legend in our dance school. We train with the amazing KLA Dance in Newbridge. Britain’s Got Talent has been an amazing opportunity for us.”
Their wonderful audition earned them a standing ovation from the judges and more importantly four ‘yes’ votes to take them through to the next round.
