A year nine Croesyceiliog School pupil competed in her first overseas figure skating competition.
Lilly Grace Walding, a pupil at Croesyceiliog School, flew to Poland in January to take part in the Edge Cup.
She came third overall in the Basic Novice Solo Ice Dance.
Emma Walding, her mum, said: “It was good to see how she competed across all the countries. We were up at 4.45am on both mornings to go the rink, half an hour practice, get ready and then compete.”
The young skater has had the same coach for nine years. She trains four mornings a week before school and has qualified for the Team GB squad.
During February she competed in ‘Slough Solo Ice Dance’ and came first in the Basic Novice Pattern Dance and second in the Basic Novice Freedance Category.
She travels to Holland this week for another overseas competition and then she has the Solo British Ice Dance Competition in April.
