Golfers at GreenMeadow Golf Club dressed up as their favorite characters to take part in a charity golf tournament.
It was the second Ladies Golfing Fun Day to be held at the Cwmbran course.
A spokesperson for the club said: “The day was a Texas scramble competition organised by GreenMeadow’s Ladies Captain Sara Goode, with competitors getting fully into the swing of the cartoon or comic theme.
“The day was supported by visitors from Radyr, Blackwood, Ashburnam, Llanwern, Morlais, Pontypridd, Bargoed and Pontnewydd Golf Clubs.
“Members and guests were invited to dress up in their favourite character fancy dress to make this a purely enjoyable day out. We saw characters from classic cartoon/comic themes such as Alice in Wonderland (GreenMeadow Ladies Captain’s Team), Batman, Mini Mouse, Toy Story, Three White Mice and our very own Blues Brothers (Club President Scott Tovey and Lyn Thomas) on hand to help the day run smoothly.
“Added skills activities were incorporated around the course on the day which included closest shot to Minnie Mouse target (winner Chris Thomas, GreenMeadow), nearest the snake (winner Theresa Weaving, Llanwern) and nearest the pin (winner Careen Thomas, Radyr).
“Overall the day was an outstanding success raising £1,800 for Tŷ Hafan. The charity and hospice were heavily supported by Peter Richardson, the founder of GreenMeadow Golf and Country Club, with a presentation plaque being received from Claire Horrex, the community fundraising manager from the charity.”
