Forty jobs have been created in Cwmbran’s new Dunelm store ready for its opening next week.

The homewares retailer is opening the doors at it’s Cwmbran store on Tuesday 31 October. Customers are encouraged to come along in their spookiest fancy dress with Halloween treats set to be dished out for the best-dressed children on the day.

The store will open 9am, with the first 50 customers through the doors each receiving an exclusive goody bag filled with Dunelm products. Those arriving a little later won’t be missing out though, with 20 golden tickets, ranging from £5 to £20, hidden around the store for customers to hunt for and spend throughout the day.

As part of the opening day celebrations, and subject to availability, local business Welsh Cake Hut will also be in store giving away free Welsh cakes to lucky shoppers before they run out. The new store will stock a wide variety of products including bedding, outdoor living, home accessories, haberdashery and kitchen and dining.

The retailer will stock many items from its Conscious Choice range – with products made from at least 50% recycled materials – and a Textile Takeback fixture, allowing customers to return unwanted textile products to be recycled or redistributed.

Sam Thomas, the store manager at Dunelm Cwmbran, added: “We’re so excited to be opening our new Dunelm Cwmbran store. The team have been working incredibly hard over the last few weeks to get everything set up and ready, with some extra-spooky Halloween surprises in store. We can’t wait to welcome the local community into our amazing new home!”

Locals are invited to join the local Dunelm Cwmbran Community Support Facebook Group where they can keep up to date with everything going on in-store both pre-opening and post – including how to claim a free hot drink in the Pausa Kitchen Café.

The new store is Dunelm’s 181st site in the UK.
