Cwmbran residents can now enjoy an authentic home-cooked Indian meal experience. Sukriti Chopra Osborne moved to the town in 2019 from New Dehli and has brought back some of her favourite recipes.

Each week she takes up to ten orders so she can get the ingredients and prepare each meal individually before it is delivered to the front door of the customers on Friday evening. Last night we were one of the lucky ten and enjoyed a feast that left our mouths tingling for hours.”

She told Cwmbran Life: “I moved to Cwmbran last year. I am a big family person. I did some meals for my mother-in-law’s birthday party. I cooked food for my friends and family for the Diwali party. Everyone here appreciated my cooking and gave me the idea that my Indian food is very fresh and homely so I should do it as my profession.

“When I did my research, I thought there is an opportunity in Cwmbran for Indian food.

“I aim to provide healthy, authentic and fresh food to everyone. ”

“No additives, colouring or shortcuts”

“I want to promote authentic real Indian food which is healthy and fresh without any food colours. As it’s only me who cooks everything, I take pre-orders so that I can arrange my ingredients and prepare everything.

“I don’t use any additives, colouring or shortcuts. My curries can be a bit runny as I don’t add any cornflour to thicken it. It’s all-natural.

“I am not a takeaway service. I do home dinning where I take only ten orders every Friday as I believe to give good quality rather having more quantity of orders.”

“To promote authentic Indian I keep my menu small, simple and limit orders.

“I come from a joint family where I have seen my mom, aunt, and grandmother cooking food. We have different food for different festivals. Every state of India is famous for its own authentic cuisine. I have always enjoyed cooking for my family. It gives me happiness when you see everyone enjoying your cooking. I find it very rewarding.

“Growing up seeing my mom and grandmother cook, it built my interest. It makes me feel happy when I see everyone enjoying my food. It’s very rewarding.

“As it’s a funny saying in India, “Good and delicious food is the way to touch someone’s heart.”

She has passed her food hygiene course and registered with Torfaen Council.
