A gold medal-winning Paralympian returned to his former school in Cwmbran to share his inspirational story with pupils and answer their questions.

Para-cyclist James Ball, 33, is visually impaired. He won gold in Paris 2024 in the men’s B 1000m time trial. His career record includes silver at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, five world titles, and two silver medals at the Commonwealth Games in Australia in 2018.

James visited Croesyceiliog School on Monday 21 October 2024.

Pupils watched a video of his fantastic win in Paris, heard him talk about his disability and how get got into the sport, and then they had the chance to ask questions.

He said he loved cycling as a child at Cwmbran Boating Lake and had great memories of being a pupil at Croesyceiliog School.
