Generous donors have raised almost £2,000 for a Torfaen nursery that was burgled last week.
Staff arrived at Ysgol Feithrin Pontypool in St James’ Field, Hanbury Road, Pontypool on Thursday morning to find the nursery in a mess and some money had been stolen.
Dawn, a nursery worker, said “After all these years for this to happen, It’s just so sad.”
Helen the group leader said “We’ve had over 30 offers to clean up. It’s been overwhelming.”
Staff immediately got to work out and were able to make sure children didn’t miss out on their Halloween disco.
Helen added: “It’s situations like these that show we’re not a business, We are a family.”
A dad who attended the nursery, and now has a son there said:” I’m so mad they broke into MY nursery!”
Parents, neighbours and local businesses have offered to donate and help. Donations to the JustGiving page are planned to be used on a security system.
