The bench was bought with money raised at a fun day at the White Hut in July. Local councillor Fiona Cross and her ten-year-old son Dylan invited people to play a treasure hunt by picking out a number on a large chart.
Private Prosser's mum Sarah Adams said: “I would just like to thank Fiona Cross for organising the fundraising and sorting this lovely memorial plaque for James. Thank you to all that have kindly donated. It really does mean so much to me.
“I miss James every second of every day and wish he could be here making memories like any other young man would be but sadly that is not to be. He died doing a job he loved for our country and for a country he believed needed help to change.
“It helps to know that people care enough to remember what our precious heroes have given up for us all.
“It is a beautiful happy place to sit and remember a beautiful boy who grew up before my eyes into a handsome, honourable young man who I'm so very proud to call my son, who I love with all my heart.
“Please never forget our heroes.”
Fiona said: “This will be a special place for those who knew him and those that didn't to remember or learn his story. It is a lasting memorial to James and his sacrifice.”
