Organisers of last night’s Motorsport Open Evening at Newtown Motors said it was attended by around 1,500 to 2,000 car fans. The annual event has grown from around 15 cars on display about ten years ago to last night’s show of 80 cars.
Newtown Motors teams up with Cwmbran’s Forresters Car Club. They chose to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Visitors were able to take a ride in a variety of classic cars and look around the many cars that owners brought along to put on display.

What is Forresters Car Club and how do I join?
The club was set up in 1967 and has over 120 members who meet every Thursday at 8.30pm in Croesyceilog Rugby and Cricket Club. They are involved in organising three rallies each year at RAF Caerwent and help out by marshalling at other club’s rallies.
