Paul Stephens is standing in the Pontypool Fawr Ward county council election as a Labour Party candidate. Read why Paul thinks you should vote for him on 5 May

Paul Stephens

Paul was asked to answer this question- You should vote for me in the Pontypool Fawr election because– and this is his answer.

I am standing in the Pontypool Fawr ward alongside two other fantastic candidates: Gaynor James and Caroline Price. We are all extremely passionate about supporting the people of this ward with a strong Labour voice.

I am passionate to see improvements to our area as a local resident myself. As a new candidate standing for the first time, I feel I can bring a fresh and new perspective which represents the ward and todays issues reflecting Labour values and commitments treating everyone fairly and allowing everyone to have a voice.

I do not subscribe to gimmicks or false promises and however big or small your issues they will innately become mine. I promise to work hard and try to resolve all issues to your satisfaction whilst keeping you informed of my progress.

I currently do a weekly food collection to support my food bank which I established over a year ago supporting families in our communities via food parcels and also help provide Christmas gifts, to those most in need and struggling in the area. Last year I  ensured 165 local children each received a Christmas present and also 100 families received a Christmas Dinner Hamper which they would have struggled to afford otherwise.

Working so closely with the community I am fully aware of the cost of living crisis meaning rather than bury my head in the sand, I will work alongside you to tackle the issues which not only affect you but myself as well.
