A player with the Professional Darts Corporation won a competition in Cwmbran last weekend.

Danny Lauby took part in an open tournament at Pontnewydd Workingmen’s Club on Sunday 25 August.

Sixty-six players entered and organisers paid tribute to the “turnout” and “atmosphere”.

Kevin O Dwyer, bar manager at the club, said: “Massive thanks to everyone that took part and especially to all of our sponsors. Big shout for Chris Smart of Smart Darts for the use of all of his equipment.

“And lastly a big thank you to Graham Jones and Nathan Treadgold who ran the competition on the day.” 

Malcolm Griffiths, one of the sponsors, said: “Great turnout and what an atmosphere really enjoyed the day well done to all involved.” 

Russel Magor, another sponsor, added: “Well done to everyone involved and to all who put up prizes, a real competitive contest. The club will now be holding more events and contests in the near future. Watch this space.”
