Wales’ largest building society is celebrating a year in Cwmbran with a party this Saturday (1 February). One lucky person who pops along to the Principality in General Rees Square will win a pair of tickets to the Wales v France rugby match in Cardiff on 21 February. Only Boys Aloud will be appearing and singing a few songs at the branch.

Visitors can get involved in other activities and enjoy free refreshments. The branch sponsors Cwmbran Park Bowling Club and members have also been invited.

The Cwmbran branch is shared with its estate agency business Peter Alan.

Ceri Thomas, Principality’s Cwmbran branch manager, said: “We are proud to be at the heart of Cwmbran and have been astounded by the response of the local community during the last 12 months and would like to thank everyone for their support.

“This branch opened after Principality’s customers called for a branch in the area and we are thrilled to be celebrating our first year of business in the Cwmbran community.”

Visitors to Cwmbran branch will also be able to take advantage of the exclusive Cwmbran Birthday Regular Saver Bond.

Damian Thompson, Principality’s Director of Distribution, said: “While a number of financial institutions have chosen to withdraw from local communities Principality believes a trusted, face to face service, delivered from the high street is still vitally important and should complement the work that takes place in our other channels– online and the telephone call centre – to work together effectively for the benefit of Members and customers.”

The Cwmbran branch is just one of Principality’s 53 branches and 17 agencies across Wales and the borders.

The celebrations run from 9am until 5pm.
