Stretchy plastics like plastic bags can be recycled in Torfaen

Torfaen residents can now recycle stretchy plastic at 14 venues in Torfaen. The service was halted after a fire at Capital Valley Plastics in September.

The Blaenavon factory is now ready to restart collections.

Torfaen Council has been working in partnership with Capital Valley Plastics since 2019 to recycle items like plastic bags, bubble wrap and food wrappers.

Where can stretchy plastic be recycled in Torfaen?

You can take your stretchy plastics to these locations to be recycled:

  • Canine Corner, Croesyceiliog
  • Able Radio
  • Market Village in Cwmbran town centre
  • Talywain Post office
  • Blaenavon RFC
  • Zero Waste Torfaen
  • My local convenience stores – Edlogan Square
  • The Costar Partnership at the Threepenny Bit
  • Torfaen Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • The Salvation Army, Wesley Street
  • CVP Kays and Kears site bank (moved to the first building)
