Coed Eva Athletic FC under 13 girls football team has won a place in Division 1 of the South Wales Women’s and Girls’ League (SWWGL) 2021-22.

The U13s girls SWWGL has 27 clubs affiliated for this age group. Since September the clubs have been playing preliminary matches to decide on what division they will start in for the new season. The Cwmbran club won ten matches in a row and secured a place in the top division.

Competitive matches start this December.

Andrew Lewis, head coach for U13 Girls at Coed Eva Athletic FC, said: “With four divisions in total, and just six places available in the coveted first division, it’s a special achievement to celebrate.

“The girls have topped the table in their opening matches – they are a credit to themselves, families, schools and of course our club. We’ve seen off some stiff competition already, but we don’t ever under-estimate what’s to come. Particularly as we face the best South Wales opponents in their age group. We’ll continue working hard to develop, improve and maintain their winning run.”
