The nation’s favourite Simon and Garfunkel Tribute slip slide into The Congress Theatre in Cwmbran on Saturday 13 April with their Old Friends Tour.
The show has delighted theatre audiences up and down the UK for the past three years with its note-perfect reproduction of the award-winning harmonies of the duo, as well as the much-publicised friction between the two singers.
In all, the two- hour show covers over 25 hits from four decades, including Mrs Robinson, Homeward Bound, The Sounds of Silence and Bridge Over Troubled Water. Paul Simon’s solo career is represented by songs such as You Can Call Me Al and Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover.
Adam Ellis and Ben Bowden, who play the duo on stage, have been described by music writers as ‘the world’s best Simon and Garfunkel tribute’ and their full band show as ‘a musical feast for anyone who loves the songs of Paul Simon’.
Adam is new to the band, having just joined as Art Garfunkel. “This is a brilliant show with some great tunes,” he says. “I love singing these songs – what great harmonies!”
Ben was recently featured on BBC’s The One Show, performing as Paul Simon and talking about Paul’s visit to England in 1965. It was on this trip that Paul reputedly wrote his hit, Homeward Bound.
