Victoria Hewitt, who uses a wheelchair and crutches to get around, has completed her 35-mile trip paddleboarding along the navigable length of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal picking up litter on the way.

The 39-year-old from Cwm went from Brecon to Five Locks Basin in Cwmbran in trips of between three and five-miles. During today’s last leg from Pontypoile to Cwmbran she collected three baskets of rubbish.

At the ‘finish line’ she was cheered by several volunteers from the Bridge 46 to Five Locks Group and staff from the Canal and Rivers Trust.

Cwmbran Life interviewed her on the towpath where she thanked her husband, Rusty, and Sharon, her mum, for their support.
