A performing arts academy in Cwmbran raised £1,002 from their last stage show and donated it to an animal sanctuary.
Inspirations rehearse every week at Woodlands Road Sports and Social Club in Croesyceiliog and hold performances at Cwmbran Workingmen’s Club.
Most of the members have disabilities. A show they held earlier this year was in aid of All Creatures Great and Small in Llanfrecha.
Kate Carlyle, from the charity, brought Dixie, who has three legs, to meet the cast members at rehearsals and collect the cheque.
She said: “Well done to all of you. This money will go a long way to helping us help more little dogs like Dixie. It will help We thought it was amazing. Our charity relies completely on donations and fundraisers so for them to raise that amount of money is just fantastic and will help us a lot.”
Sarah Hayward, director of the academy, said: “Everything that we done helps dogs like Dixie. It’s a very, very special cause.”
