Cwmbran Life invited candidates standing for Torfaen in tomorrow’s (4 July 24) general election to answer questions from readers.
Six of the eight candidates could attend the event. It was held in a meeting room at the Springboard Business Innovation Centre in Llantarnam Industrial Park.
Cwmbran Life readers submitted questions in advance and a number of these were used during the discussion before the time ran out.
These were the four questions:
- What would you say is the biggest issue facing the people of Torfaen and what would you do as its MP to resolve this issue?
- How do you feel regarding immigration?
- How can we bring the NHS service back to where it should be I’ve worked for 40 years paying all my taxes National Insurance and I’ve needed the NHS twice in 2 years and have been told waiting times are 129 weeks and 70 weeks so have had to go and pay a private hospital to get myself sorted?
- Energy, groceries, council tax , mortgages , and motoring prices have all increased yet this doesn’t reflect in people’s pay packets or income . With a cost of living crisis how will you change and support those who are struggling to make ends meet.
