The Sporting Achievement Award was given to Marcus Hall at Cwmbran Community Council’s Community Awards evening.

This was read out as Marcus collected the award at the Parkway Hotel on Friday 6 March.

“Marcus has been a driving force at Llanyrafon AFC for nearly a decade. Beginning as a volunteer with the club’s children’s section, he has dedicated countless hours to helping young people grow —not just as players, but as confident individuals.

“His passion for inclusion led him to establish a disability team, which has since grown into three thriving teams competing across Wales. Thanks to Marcus, players with a wide range of disabilities can enjoy football, build friendships and develop confidence and life skills beyond the pitch.

“Giving up much of his own time, Marcus creates a safe, inclusive and empowering environment where character, respect and teamwork matter just as much as results.

“For his unwavering commitment and lasting impact on our community, it is my honour to present the Sporting Achievement Award to… Marcus Hall.”
